It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Cape May Christmas

Posted By: admin 0 Comment

It’s that time of year again – twinkling lights hang from trees, kitchens smell of gingerbread, and Christmas music is abundant on the radio. For those who celebrate it, Christmas is often one of the happiest times of year. But lets not forget: giving is just as important, if not more, than receiving.

Our Cape May Cares elves have been hard at work trying to spread joy around the community this holiday season.

Sponsor A Child and Make Their Christmas!

We currently have 54 children at the housing authority and we aspire to provide presents for all of the, this Christmas. We aim to gift 75 to 100 dollars worth of presents to each child. We have enough donations for 30 of them so far. This is fantastic, but we still need your help!

Many of these children will not receive presents outside of the ones that we give them. Your donation doesn’t just impact one day, but their entire year!

Sponsor a child and help make their Christmas unforgettable. It is patrons like you who help Cape May Cares make a difference in the community, our community!

We are grateful for your contributions, not matter how big or small. You can donate through the website here, or Venmo Cathy Lafferty. You can send your donation to @Cathy-Lafferty via Venmo and write ‘Christmas Donation’ in the memo. Thank you for all your support!

Below are some pictures of our wonderful present delivery last year, and some of the Christmas letters the children wrote. We are working hard to make sure this year will be just as successful.

Santa’s Workshop Will Help Families Pick Presents

We are proud to announce that we will also be sponsoring a ‘Santa’s Workshop’ this year. At the workshops, family members will be able to ‘shop’ for their siblings and parents.

They can have fun picking out gifts for their family, and then wrap them up afterwards! We also provide wrapping paper and cards that they can decorate. The children can give back to their family, while also having a blast drawing and adding their personal touches to the packaging!

Santa’s Workshop will be held on Saturday, December 19th from 11am to 3pm. We will be assigning specific time slots to participants to adhere to social distancing rules. For further questions or inquiries, feel free to contact us!

From our Cape May Cares family to yours, we wish you a warm and happy holiday season!
