National Night Out '22

National Night Out

Posted By: admin 0 Comment

Every year, the Cape May Police Department and the City of Cape May host National Night Out. NNO is an event that celebrates a night against crime by bringing the community together in front of Convention Hall. Cape May Cares joined to support this worthy cause.

Walking up to National Night Out, you can hear it before you see it. CMPD set up a big DJ booth with great music, free raffle giveaways, and local Officer Tony energizing everyone on the microphone.

The event closes down Beach Drive for a block and the street is lined with numerous fun activities. Some of the festivities include a dunk tank, inflatable race course, “smoke house” to escape from, and even a firefighting hose that kids could spray with the help of the local firefighters.

One of the local CMHA children, Keydem, had a blast explore the Coast Guard boat that was brought onto the main street. We certainly think he could be an exceptional captain one day!

Cape May Cares was in charge of giving out the scoop at National Night Out, literally and figuratively. We distributed free water ice, and flyers about our organization. With it being so hot out, the line backed up all the way down the promenade!

A long crowd gathered at NNO for free water ice from Cape May Cares.

Our board and community members came out strong to help under the hot summer sun. The team effort made all of the difference in the world. Plus, everyone had a great time!

Thank you to everyone who joined us at National Night Out!

We are grateful to be a part of such a strong community, and for the great turn out yesterday.
