Who We Are

At Cape May Cares we believe in encouraging and empowering through education and experience.

Cape May Cares is a non-profit organization dedicated to the creation and funding of educational and community programs for the Cape May Housing Authority. We aim to help improve the everyday lives of children, senior citizens, and lower income families in the CMHA with the help of our volunteers, staff, and board members. Together, we can accomplish amazing things.

Established in 2018, we have been providing tutoring, summer activities, and camps for the children in the Cape May Housing Authority. These activities promote social and emotional well-being, as well as valuable tools to help community members thrive as individuals.

As we continue to grow, we are excited to be working with Family Promise and Cape Hope. We aspire to extend our programs to benefit more families in the Cape May area. If you are interested in volunteering or contributing, please get in touch.

Help Us Build a Playground!

We are currently fundraising to build a playground for the children of the Cape May Housing Authority. We need your help! A playground will create a safe space for the children to play, develop motor skills, and build community. Donate below to change the lives of our community members.

What We Do

We are proud to have a strong mixture of ongoing activities at Cape May Cares. The calendar below will keep you up to date with current and upcoming events. Activities include sailing, art classes, babysitting courses, nature excursions, and much more. Be sure to check our blog for more details on events and updates!

Success! You're on the list.

How Can I Help?

Everything that Cape May Cares has accomplished is credited to our valuable community members, board members, volunteers, sponsors, and donors. It truly “takes a village” to make lasting change, and we are Cape May Strong.

Do you have a particular skillset that is valuable? Would you like to make a donation? Do you want to get involved, but just aren’t sure how?

We always welcome new ideas from anyone willing to help. If you are a teacher, join us as a tutor or for homework club. If you have practical trade or hands-on skills, volunteer to run a workshop. If you enjoy nature, help us plant a garden. Have something else in mind? Reach out to our Communications Director, Sophie, to brainstorm and discuss!
