Christmas Physick Estate Trip and Trolley Tour
It’s the most wonderful time of the year – and that means getting to see all of the beautiful decorations around Cape May! We were so kindly offered a free Trolley and Phsyick Estate tour for the Cape May Housing Authority.
Many residents of Cape May County take pride in decorating their homes for the Christmas season. Throughout town, there are bountiful sets of lights strung on houses, in parks, and outside of restaurants.
The best way to see everything is by driving around – which make the trolley tour perfect!
The smiles on the children’s faces is truly what Christmas spirit is all about.
Sitting on the trolley, the kids got to watch all of the spectacular Christmas lights that are set up in town. Bright white, red, and green lights were intertwined around balconies, perfectly complimenting the gorgeous Victorian architecture. Our pictures hardly do them justice!
Later, everyone hopped off of the trolley for a tour of the Physick Estate.
Phsyick Estate
For those who don’t know, then Emlen Physick Estate is one of the best preserved Victorian Stick Style houses in the country. It is an 18 house mansion designed by the famed American architect Frank Furness. It was recently restored in the last 50 years by MAC and is kept in immaculate condition.
The house offers a unique view into the lives of the Physick family, as well as what life looked like during the Victorian era.
The children got to experience a tour of the house and learn about the history of their own town. Walking through those hallways felt like a trip back in time! Many of the participants have not visited the Estate before, making this an exciting new experience.
