This past Sunday, we joined Fins Bar & Grille as their first Social Sunday fundraiser of the year. Our community really stepped up to the plate to create a rewarding and enjoyable experience. We cannot say thank you enough!
From 10:30am to 2:30pm, the community came together and joined for fantastic food, live music, and ‘make your own mimosas.’
Then, half of all money spent during that time has been contributed directly to Cape May Cares – we raised over $3,000! We cannot say thank you enough to our Fins family.
Even with the cold morning, the atmosphere inside was warm and joyful. Many different members of the community came to Fins, including the mayor and their family, CMHA board members, the police chief, our tutor, and many others.
Every donation makes a massive difference to the lives of our community members. Donations support a wide variety of efforts made by Cape May Cares. These contribute to strengthening our tutoring program, giving back to CMHA during Christmas time, and adding activities to our summer program, among many other things.
One of our biggest current projects includes fundraising to build a playground near the Housing Authority. We want to create an outdoors environment where children can feel safe and have fun. Outside play is great exercise for children, teaches hand-eye coordination, and is great for practicing socialization skills.
Cape May continues to inspire us as a place of incredible community support. Many thanks again to the team at Fins, and to everyone who came to the fundraiser.
